HIVE goes live: The new Trust-wide electronic patient records system at MFT
HIVE’s innovative and digitally advanced Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution brings all patient information into one easily accessible place to make services more effective. Streamlining over 1,000 patient record systems and creating a single source of information, both staff and patients receive substantial service improvements to record management. By having one single system across 10 Trust hospitals and managed clinical services, staff can work more efficiently, accessing all the information they need to care for patients whenever and wherever they need it.
Prior to implementation, NHS Professionals was involved in weekly project meetings with MFT and played a critical role providing them with Bank Member data to ensure all HIVE training was completed prior to go live. Pre- implementation (July-September 2022), the NHS Professionals’ onsite team dealt with hundreds of customer enquiries and always demonstrated teamwork, commitment, and tenacity throughout this busy period. They also provided out of hours support over weekends and bank holidays.
As well as rolling out this initial service, the team worked closely with the Trust to agree contingency plans for training so that there was no impact to shift fill when additional training options were introduced.
By working collaboratively, HIVE went ahead as planned and all NHS Professionals’ teams worked together to support our MFT with in-depth reporting, communications to candidates, filling shifts, booking people in for training etc. This partnership approach with the Trust, both pre and post implementation, has enhanced the relationship with MFT and shown the positive impact on patient care that a new system can have.
Ant Tang, AHP Temporary Staffing Manager said: ‘NHS Professionals has worked collaboratively with MFT to ensure that temporary workers are trained in the HIVE system but have also worked efficiently to raise and resolve any issues. They have acted swiftly on any requests to ensure the transition to the new HIVE system was seamless for all the Bank Members. Communication between MFT and NHS Professionals has been excellent and has ensured that all temporary workers are fully aware of the HIVE implementation, to enable them to continue to deliver excellent patient care.’
