Car

Parking for patients and visitors coming to the Royal Berkshire Hospital can be found in the multi-storey car park on Craven Road. We have allocated levels 0, 1, 2 and 3 of the car park to our patients and visitors. You can find designated disabled parking spaces on levels 0 and 2 of the multi-story car park. You do not need to take a ticket when you enter as your car will be registered with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and you do not need to display a ticket in your car. The multi-story car park is no longer barrier operated.

RBH have changed the way you pay in the multi-story car park to make it easier for their patients and visitors. You can now pay via:

  • Cash via the pay machine before you exit (no change given)
  • Card via the pay machine before you exit (including contactless)
  • APCOA  APP before you exit or within 24 hours of exiting the car park

Parking charges apply 24 hours, 7 days per week. Pay machines can be found on Levels 0, 1, 2 and 3. Blue badge holders are eligible for free parking. To validate parking, please go to reception on level 2 or register your vehicle with APCOA once you have parked. See below for information on parking discounts.

Discounted parking

NHS Professionals Bank Members can apply for discounted parking when working NHSP Bank shifts at Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Parking Prices will be a maximum of £4 per day in the multi storey car park (opposed to the standard charge of £15 a day). If you would like to start receiving this discount please email rbhqueries@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk requesting the Parking Discount form. Please note that this can take up to 5 working days to be active.

Trust ID Access Card

It may be necessary for you to obtain a Trust ID card which will provide access to wards and clinical areas that you might be working in. Once your application and onboarding is complete, wait for your NHS Professionals ID badge to arrive in the post. Please do not book a shift at RBH until you have received your NSHP ID card for Bank exclusive or Bank only members.

During your first shift, contact the relevant manager to enquire whether a Trust ID card is required. If a Trust ID card is required, the Trust manager will need to place a request with IT for you to be provided with an Access Card.

IT will then advise you where you need to attend to have your photo taken and what the next steps for your Access Card to be provided.

System access for all patient facing roles

To work any patient facing roles you must have completed EPR training and have access to the system. Should you have any queries or require any further information please contact rbhqueries@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk.
