May 2023 Nursing and Midwifery £400 Monthly Incentive Extended

Terms and conditions are below:

Eligible shifts 7 days a week Monday to Sunday all shifts included. Applicable to all shifts worked at Nursing & Midwifery codes Bands 1-7, including ICU.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Theatre/Recovery working with the following codes: CSW59/CSWH52/CSWH59/NTL52/NTL55/NTM55/RN544/RN55/RN59/RNT48/RNT52/RNT54/ RNT55/TP40/TP52/TP59/TPEL52/TPHL223/TPHL40/TPHL55/TPP59.

These staff members have different terms and conditions for their incentives. Please read the separate article which is titled

  • New T&C - Shifts worked in Endoscopy will not be included in the Nursing and Midwifery Monthly incentive T&C’s from 1stFebruary.
  • Effective from 1stFebruary Endoscopy has now been added to the Theatre/Recovery Incentive please refer to the Theatre/Recovery T&C’s for shifts worked in Endoscopy.

Night Shifts now count as 2 shifts - Please note worked shift length to be included as two shifts for nights, night shift needs to be 11 hours or more.

Doctor's Assistants are eligible.

Eligible shifts must be worked in a ward or clinical area (shifts at both Vaccine hubs will not be included in the incentive).

Clinical staff who hold an honorary contract with the Trust and who are registered with the bank will be eligible and treated as bank-only workers.

Multi-post holders (Substantive staff) need to work 6 shifts in each qualifying month to receive payment.

Bank-only contract holders need to work a minimum of 12 shifts in each qualifying month to receive payment.

Incentive payments can be paid multiple times, for example, if double the number of shifts detailed above are worked in a month, the employee/bank worker would receive a payment of £800 (pre-tax).

Eligible shifts must be a minimum of 5 hours and 29 minutes. Bank shifts worked within 48 hours of sickness absence will not qualify for the incentive. Rostered shift times must not be manipulated to enable qualification for the incentive i.e. night shifts should not be split.

Only shifts worked at a University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust site will qualify however, colleagues from Livewell and NDHT working bank shifts at UHP will qualify under the bank share agreement.

Shifts with the following start and end times will count as 2 shifts – 06:00-20:00, 07:00-20:00, 07:30-20:00, and 08:00-20:00.

Shifts processed as Self Isolation payments will not be eligible.

Shifts booked under Medicine RN or Surgery RN Pool Ward will not be eligible.

Bank shifts worked within 48 hours of sickness absence will not qualify for the incentive.
