NHS Professionals appoints new Chair, Dr Helen Phillips

NHS Professionals is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chair of the Board.

Dr Helen Phillips, who starts the role with the award-winning healthcare staffing business in April 2023, brings with her a wealth of senior and board-level experience across a 30-year career in industries including: insurance, legal, social care, further education, shared services, utilities and the environment. 

In addition, from an NHS perspective, Helen has also been Chair of the Board at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for the last eight years.

Speaking about her appointment, Helen said: 

“I am thrilled to be joining NHS Professionals as Chair at this significant time for the business. The organisation has been through a remarkable period of growth, especially during the pandemic. I am looking forward to working with Nicola and the whole team as we enter an exciting era of transformation for our client Trusts, Bank Members, agency partners and corporate teams. I am especially pleased to be working in a position where I can continue to support our NHS at a time of well publicised workforce pressures and help NHS Professionals in its mission of Putting People in Places to Care.”

Helen, who lives in Derbyshire, has a grown-up family and is a keen beekeeper. She also has an extensive background in the environment and sustainability, having been a Director at the Environment Agency.
