Healthcare Support Worker - Patient Safety Trainee
Begin your NHS career with our Patient Safety Support Worker Development (PSSWD) programme, where you will receive all the training, support, and supervision you need to become a Patient Safety Support Worker (PSSW) / Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW).
We have a unique opportunity to learn on the job at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust over a 6-month paid supervised placement programme. Through our programme, you will learn how to reduce the risk of falls, injury and anxiety for patients suffering from dementia as well as how to maintain positive engagement including diversion and reminiscence therapies.
Work towards your Care Certificate whilst receiving weekly pay, paid annual leave and all the other great benefits NHS Professionals offers our bank members. Once you have successfully completed the programme you will be able to work flexibly at any of our partner Trusts.
Pay Rates:
Days: £9.50
Saturdays/Nights: £13.40
Sunday/Bank Hols: £17.39
Main duties of the job
What the programme involves?
During our programme you will work through the 15 Standards of the Care Certificate, learning how to meet the daily living needs of your patients as well as being a part of the NHS healthcare team. This includes supporting Nurses and other healthcare practitioners in providing patient care, from hygiene to personal and physical comfort.
